Where does the world stand for covid-19 second wave
The year 2020 began with exciting events for all the people around the world. It was at this time when the whole world was enjoying sporting events, travelling across the world and medical advancements were on quite a roll. But on the other side, in China, the nation was mourning and was under a strict lockdown. It was in Wuhan, where the first patient was tested positive for Covid-19 aka Corona Virus. When no one expected, the tables started to turn upside down and slowly the whole world was under a lockdown. The public places were closed down, offices were closed, the sporting events across the world were brought to a pause.
Outbreak and its effect
It was in March, when the Covid-19 positive cases were increased at an unstoppable rate all across China, Italy, United States of America and the United Kingdom and amongst other countries. It hit the global news when the British Prime Minister was tested positive for the Corona Virus and later, the German Finance Minister committed suicide, due to the downfall in the economy of Germany. Apart from that many people have lost their lives due to the same reason. WHO, declared it to be a pandemic and the scientists all across the world began to try and find a vaccine that could fight the virus. The virus does not have a long life cycle but it can be transmitted through air, and once it enters the body it starts damaging the lungs. This resulted in difficulty in breathing for the people and those who had respiratory problems had to suffer the most from it.
The current condition
As of the current situation around the globe, only a few countries managed to control the situation significantly. The situation around the globe is still shaky, but the numbers seem to decrease in countries like India, Canada, and many other European countries. Though, after a long and struggling lockdown for almost a year since March, Pfizer and other drug companies have shown good signs in developing the vaccine for the coronavirus. But another concerning thing to worry about is the new cases that are now seen in the European countries.
Is there a second wave around the corner?
Many experts predict that seeing the increase in the number of cases and changes in the symptoms, there can be a second wave of pandemic lurking around the corner. The most affected by this virus were the people belonging to the age group of 50 and above. Lockdown cannot be the answer to the second wave, as many financial experts say, while the doctors believe that the human body has developed some kind of resistance towards the virus. But despite the resistance power developed by the body, it can be hard to control the spread and the lockdown is now the only possible solution. As of the current situation, the cases around the world seems to decrease in some countries but the other half of the globe still mourns, as the number is still increasing. The second wave of Coronavirus which was predicted back in November, has quite numbed its presence but there is still a chance of another outbreak if the guidelines and proper precautions are not taken.
