The Vaccine update of the COVID-19 Virus

The world was suffering from a mere virus, which until the end of December 2019 was just another viral infection, but when the novel coronavirus first made its impact on China, it was quite catastrophic. The Chinese have been looking for a vaccination for that virus since then. But looking for the vaccine is not simple; there are a lot of tests and trials that have to be approved to make it available for people across the state or the country. An interesting thing to know was that people around the world expected that the vaccine would be found early. This was due to the technological advancements and constant updates from the medicine companies, early before the outbreak. Though most of the countries took this news well and supported the cause of finding a vaccine and making it available for everyone.
The only option to stop the spread
In April and March, everyone was talking about the vaccine and how it could be made available for everyone, but on the other hand, the cases of people testing positive for the novel coronavirus kept on increasing. The urgency for finding a vaccine that will be suited for the human body and will not have any side effects was increasing with the increasing number of cases. Though it was quite clear by the WHO and other medical institutes across the world. As of the current standing, there are more than 50 COVID-19 vaccine candidates in trials, as shown on the record by the WHO. On the contrary, WHO is also working with scientists, businesses, and other global health organizations to speed up the process of finding a cure or a structure that will help the scientists develop a vaccine that will not only have no side effects but also fight the virus.
Our body, over the course of almost a year, has now developed quite a resistance to the novel coronavirus as the current status stands. The cases across the world are decreasing, but there might be a second wave lurking around the corner, which, without a proper vaccine, can be fatal as then, lockdown will again be the only way to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease. COVAX is what the vaccine will be called, and it is led by WHO, GAVI, and CEPI, which will help with the process of making it available for all the people around the world, from production to distribution.
Will there be an Effective vaccine?
There are more than 73 million COVID-19 cases across the world, and over 1.6 million people have lost their lives due to this. On the positive side of this, nearly 52 million people have defeated the virus. However, the three major countries of the world have agreed to start the vaccination of their citizens. The United Kingdom, the United States of America, and Canada will administer the vaccine shots of the Pfizer Inc.-BioNTech SE vaccine candidate, which, in case of emergency, is approved by many other countries.
India, which has seen a huge rise in the number of cases, is yet to start vaccination, but the update from the health ministry of India states that the phase 1 and 2 trials were successful. The Pune-based candidate for the Covid-19 vaccine, Gennova Pharmaceuticals Limited, is said to be leading the race for the vaccine in the country.
Other countries like Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia are also allowing the emergency shots of Pfizer. Indonesia has come up with quite a different plan for vaccinating the young generation over the senior citizens. No matter what, but the vaccine has progressed a lot since the beginning, and in a few upcoming months, it is believed that a cure for the novel coronavirus will be found.
