However, those patients who were treated with remdesivir recovered faster compared to those treated with other drugs. These are often given in the form of tablets and even injections. The FDA has rescinded its emergency authorization for the use of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine to treat people who are hospitalized with COVID-19 amid serious concerns about their safety and how well they worked against the virus.

Dexamethasone is another drug that is used in treating the novel coronavirus. It is a common corticosteroid medication that has been used for years. In the UK, a randomized clinical trial proved this drug to be effective in treating COVID-19.
Over the past few months, the talk about plasma has been a topic of discussion. They sounded more like a plasma transplant, but it was nothing like the transplant at all. Convalescent plasma was an emergency investigational, a new drug issued by the FDA. Now, how it is used by the doctors is quite interesting to know. The plasma from a recovered person is collected, and later that plasma is transfused into someone who has recovered from COVID-19. It is found that the antibodies found in the convalescent plasma help the positive patient fight the novel coronavirus easily.
