Anti Rh D Immunoglobulin is used to prevent Rh D negative women of child-bearing age, becoming sensitized (reactive) to Rh D positive red blood cells, to protect a Rh D positive baby’s red blood cells either during the current pregnancy or, more particularly, in future pregnancies.
